Sn100Ge Lead-Free Wave Solder Bar
Sn100Ge is a tin-copper-germanium wave solder bar and a drop-in alternative to SN100C. It is the practical default for standard lead-free wave soldering: proven, broadly compatible and lower in cost than silver-bearing alloys.

Why Wavecast Sn100Ge
- Drop-in alternative to SN100C without the trade-name premium
- No silver, so a lower material cost than SAC305
- Compatible with common lead-free fluxes, pastes and solder wire
- Cast from virgin metal and vacuum extruded for a cleaner pot
Questions
Is Sn100Ge a drop-in replacement for SN100C?
Sn100Ge uses the same tin-copper-germanium approach as SN100C and is offered as a drop-in alternative. As with any alloy change, confirm it against your process qualification before switching.
What is the melting point of Sn100Ge?
Sn100Ge melts at about 227°C, the eutectic point of tin-copper. Wave solder pots typically run it at 265–275°C.
Should I use Sn100Ge or SAC305?
For standard lead-free commercial production, Sn100Ge is usually the more economical choice because it contains no silver. SAC305 makes sense when a customer, design authority or certification specifies it.
